Medvedev Captures Title

Daniil Medvedev has won the ATP Shanghai Masters, defeating Alexander Zverev in the final 6-4, 6-1. The victory marks Medvedev's fourth Masters 1000 title of the season and solidifies his position as the world's top-ranked player.

Zverev, who was seeking his first Masters 1000 title, put up a valiant effort but was ultimately unable to overcome Medvedev's consistent play. The Russian star broke Zverev's serve twice in the first set and cruised through the second set, losing just one game.

Berrettini Advances to Final

In the other semifinal, Matteo Berrettini defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets, 7-6(5), 6-4. Berrettini, who is now into his second Masters 1000 final of the year, will face Medvedev in the championship match on Sunday.

Berrettini, who is ranked 13th in the world, has enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2022, winning two ATP titles and reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open. He will be looking to upset Medvedev and clinch his first Masters 1000 title in Shanghai.
